Dreaming of Spring

I woke up to a temperature of 6 degrees this morning. That's -14 to those of you on the Celsius scale.  I am so tired of pulling on tights and boots and twelve layers everyday.  In fact, I think I'd like to burn all my winter clothes.  Spring is still two months away and I'm already dreaming about what I'll be wearing. I love all these full skirts, fun dresses, bright colors, and most of all, the bare legs.  I can guarantee I'll be twirling too when the warm weather finally arrives!

Who Wears Short Shorts: Part Deux

It's brutally hot again today in New York and one of my male friends confirmed that it's even worse if you have to wear a suit. Poor corporate guys. Too bad they can't wear shorts to work like these cool guys! They definitely look chic to me!

Gratuitous Cute Boy Post

I've been running around shopping for clients all day and now I am too tired to even string two words together let alone write a post so I'm leaving you with my favorite cute boy photo from The Sartorialist. Apparently, his name is Luca Rubinacci (even his name is cute!) and he's a Neapolitan tailor so needless to say he dresses well. I bet he also holds doors open and helps old ladies across the street too. Sigh. Meanwhile in New York, the men push you out of the way to get the last seat on the subway. I think I may have to consider moving to Italy. But right now, I'm off to bed and promise a regular post tomorrow! Ciao!

White After Labor Day

Usually by this time of the year, I'm officially over summer and ready to break out my fall clothes but not this year! Maybe because I spent so much time working or maybe because I don't know what I will wear when I put away my white dresses and my white Goyard bag! Of course, it stays warm through October so it's not exactly fall weather right now anyway and since rules are meant to be broken I will probably throw on a white dress tomorrow. I might make a concession and carry a brown handbag though. I have put away anything linen or very summery but will definitely not be putting away my white jeans for a few more weeks.

The Sartorialist photographed fashion editor Giovanna during fashion week last fall and she clearly doesn't subscribe to the "no white after Labor Day rule" but she is Italian so perhaps they don't have that fashion rule since Labor Day is an American holiday! What about you? Will you wear white after Labor Day?

A Woman of a Certain Age

I love checking out The Sartorialist for fashion inspiration, especially when he's in Italy and France. He shot the woman above for Style.com while in Paris for fashion week and to me she is the epitome of chic. She looks like a cross between Carolina Herrera and Catherine Deneuve. I love her entire outfit from the belted dress to the black tights, the fabulous coat, the big bold gold jewelry to the YSL bag. She is perfection and how I hope I look when I a woman of a certain age...elegant and self assured...and maybe also living in City of Lights. I mean New York is fun and all but nothing beats the glamour of Par-ee. Right?
